2 Days Orangutan Tour

After breakfast in Pangkalan Bun Hotel, transfer to Kumai by car about 30 minutes and boating up river about 4,5 hours and explore the great mangrove, nipah palm and wildlife along the Kumai river and Sekonyer river and the up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutan are reintroduced into the rain forest. After lunch on the boat you will have opportunity to take small trek or see information center before see feeding time at 14.00pm for old rehabilitation orangutan given additional foods.
Overnight and Dinner on the Boat
The boat is traditional boat wooden river boat about 14 m by 2,5 m with a roof where you can see the rain forest). The guide’s team includes the boatmen, cook and good guide. On the boat, we have simple mattress, pillow, mosquito net, meals, mineral water, kitchen, toilet. Helpful guides and boatmen.

After breakfast the boating down the river to Pondok Tangguy, rehabilitation center for the new exceptive orangutans, see feeding time at 09.00am. Continuing the tour to Pesalat Reforestation area, see the process of reforestation project. Afternoon visit Tanjung Harapan rehabilitation center to witness feeding time for rehabilitation orangutan at 15.00pm. Late afternoon visiting the Village near of the national park. Boating down the river during the night, and you can see fireflies and take dinner around the fireflies at Nipah Palm (depend to the moon and weather). Back to Pangkalan Bun Hotel.
